If you are sexually active, talk to your health care provider honestly and openly, and ask if the test for gonorrhea or other STD should be done. If you are a sexually active man, homosexual, bisexual or have sex with men and are sexually active, should be tested for detection of gonorrhea annually.
I'm pregnant. How does it affect my baby gonorrhea?

Pregnancy and STDs
If you are pregnant and have gonorrhea, you can pass the infection to her baby during childbirth. This can cause serious health problems to your baby. If you are pregnant, it is important to talk with your health care provider so that you do physical exams and proper testing and receive the right treatment, as needed. Treat gonorrhea as soon as possible will decrease the chances that your baby has health complications.
How do I know if I have gonorrhea?

Some men with gonorrhea have no symptoms. However, men who have symptoms may have:
burning sensation when urinating;
secretion of white, yellow or green colored penis;
pain or swelling in the testicles (although this is less common).
Most women with gonorrhea have no symptoms. Even when they have symptoms usually are mild and can be confused with symptoms of vaginal infection or bladder. Women with gonorrhea are at risk of serious complications from the infection, even if they show no symptoms.
Symptoms in women may include the following:
pain or burning sensation when urinating;
increased vaginal discharge;
vaginal bleeding between periods.
Rectal infections may not cause symptoms in both men and women and can cause the following:
secretions;
anal itching;
pain;
bleeding;
painful bowel movements.
It should be checked by a doctor if you notice any of these symptoms or if your partner has an STD or STD symptoms, such as unusual pain, discharge with odor, burning during urination, or bleeding between periods.
How will my doctor if I have gonorrhea?

In most cases, you can use a urine sample to detect gonorrhea. However, if you have had oral or anal sex, you can use a swab to obtain samples from the throat or rectum. In some cases, samples should be taken from a man's urethra (urine canal) or cervix of women (opening of the womb) with a swab.
You can cure gonorrhea?

Yes, gonorrhea can be cured with proper treatment. It is important that you take all medications prescribed by your doctor to cure your infection. Drugs against gonorrhea should not be shared with anyone. Although medication will stop the infection, they will not repair any permanent damage that caused the disease.
It is increasingly difficult to treat some cases of gonorrhea because resistant strains of gonorrhea are increasing drug. If your symptoms persist for more than a few days after treatment, you should return to your health care provider to make you another check.
I received treatment for gonorrhea. When I can have sex again?

You must wait seven days after completing all drugs before having sex. To avoid infection or gonorrhea again that transmission to a sexual partner or their sexual partners must avoid sex until each person has completed treatment. If you have had gonorrhea and took drugs in the past, you can still become infected again if you have unprotected sex with someone who has gonorrhea.
What if I do not get treatment?

When gonorrhea is not treated, it can cause serious health problems and permanent both men and women.
In women, untreated gonorrhea can cause pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). Some of the complications of PID are:
